Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to share with the readers our low-cost system for video capture and on-demand video delivery that creates the feeling with being there in the classroom.


In today’s school life, it is inevitable for students to miss classes due to taking part in inter-college sports competition events or other activities while the school is in session. For those students to make up the missed class, the use of an LMS is one of the most common ways. However, such method of learning using an LMS may lack the feeling of being there in the class.


However, the conventional system usually requires a time- consuming task for a video technician to tape the class or lecture, to video-edit, and to register the edited video online so that students can view the video online. Furthermore, it is not easy to capture live class or lecture conducted by instructors with various teaching styles with the feeling of being in the class. It is not easy to capture the video in such an effective way that students can view and study without any stress or disturbance.


In an effort to provide such students with the opportunity to learn the contents of the class or lecture that they missed with the feeling of being there, we have developed an e-Learning Video On-Demand system to deliver the video of the class or lecture as if they were in the class.
